Comparable quote process

NorthPoint Sourcing temporary-office quote process

NorthPoint Sourcing prepares one request that several factories can answer. The referenced brand stays a search clue. The desk is an independent sourcing partner and does not claim authorized dealer status. What leaves this page is a scope matrix. Original-brand supply is outside that matrix.

Each supplier is asked for the same use, the same module dimensions or clear span, the same quantity, the same destination, and the same scope word. Freight, tax, foundation, and installation stay on their own lines so a low shell number is not compared with a delivered total.

A temporary-office alternatives brief should name occupant count, room layout, expected duration, relocation plan, site access, stairs/ramps and known stack arrangement. Quote power/data, HVAC, furniture, sanitary provision, foundations and removal separately. This is alternative factory procurement, not a promise of an original-brand rental fleet or a lease available on a requested date.

What each factory reply has to show

Floor cassette, wall panel, and roof cassette in a plant bay

Assembly that is actually priced

Ask whether the number covers a finished volumetric box or panels that still need a site crew. A photo of a completed camp does not state the transport width or the crane lift plan.

Document stack labeled drawings, calculations, and weld notes

Documents tied to the quoted system

Request drawings, material specs, and any test report for the system being priced. IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, AWS D1.1, IAS AC472, and ISO 9001 are names to look up on the document, not badges this desk holds.

Scope bands written as shell, delivered, installed, and turnkey

Exclusions written in the same place

A reply should mark each line included, excluded, optional, or waiting. Foundation interface, utility rough-in, and local permits are common exclusions. They stay visible so two totals are not treated as twins.

Hot-rolled steel and cold-formed steel members should be named when the supplier proposes them. A grade without a coating note is incomplete for a coastal site, and this desk does not invent the grade.

Questions sorted by what they change

Scope

Which lines must every supplier quote?

Use, size, loads that are known, quantity, destination, and the scope word. Unknown loads stay blank. A supplier who fills them with a catalog default should label that default as an assumption.

Can shell and turnkey share one total?

No shared total. Shell leaves foundation, utilities, and often installation with the buyer. Turnkey still has exclusions. Put both descriptions in the matrix and compare rows that describe the same scope.

Cost boundaries

Which costs need their own confirmation?

Ocean or road freight, duties, state tax, crane time, anchor design, and site civil work. A budget note may name a currency and a per-unit or whole-order basis. It is not a quoted price.

What does a supplier preference mean?

Premium, mid-range, budget-friendly, or undecided records how much finish and document depth the buyer wants to see. It is not a rating this desk has verified, and no current quotation is required.

Hand the matrix to the factories

  • Same use, quantity, and destination on every request.
  • Scope word written once and not blended.
  • Documents requested for the quoted system and the project jurisdiction.
  • Deviations marked before anyone calls two offers equivalent.

The buyer and the project engineer keep the code decision and the contract decision. NorthPoint Sourcing coordinates questions and lines up replies.

Send the requirement

Write the specification, quantity, destination and delivery timing in this field. Shell, delivered, installed and turnkey prices use different scopes.
