Volumetric
More finish leaves the plant. Transport width and the crane lift plan become the constraint.
Independent sourcing service. NorthPoint Sourcing is not mcgrath rentcorp, does not claim authorized dealer status and is not affiliated with that company.
NorthPoint Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. A use case is not a brand order. The chips below are comparison dimensions for the method, not a claim that this desk manufactures any of them. Start from the use, then write the constraints that change the quotation.
A temperature-controlled storage comparison needs contents, required temperature range and tolerance, ambient conditions, loading frequency and door-open periods. Ask for insulation/vapour control, floor build-up, refrigeration capacity and power, condensate/defrost handling, alarms and commissioning responsibilities. A dry modular shell or insulation photo is not evidence of controlled-temperature performance, food suitability or an available cold room; these require the exact proposed system and qualified project review.
More finish leaves the plant. Transport width and the crane lift plan become the constraint.
Packs can be denser. Site assembly and weather exposure rise, so the installation scope must be named.
Travel size and opened size are both required. Connections and the foundation interface stay on the brief.
Clear span, eave height, and bay spacing decide the rigid frame. Module width does not replace those three.
Bed count, sanitary ratio, and kitchen location change the package. A sleeping module price does not include water treatment or the generator pad. Say whether the camp is temporary and who removes it.
Occupancy, exit, and the fire-resistance rating at the mating wall belong in the request. HUD Code manufactured housing, state modular rules, and a classroom on a district lot are different regulatory paths. Do not blend them.
Duration and stack height change the tie-downs. Power, data, and furniture are easy to leave out of a shell line while the photograph still shows them. Write each one as in or out.
Door size, crane beam if any, and design live load on the floor are not optional notes. Primary frame and secondary framing should be named. A girt spacing guess from a photo is not a specification.
State who occupies the building, for how long, and whether it must move. A camp, a classroom, a site office, and a clear-span workshop do not share a floor load or a plumbing scope. Mixed uses should be split so one quotation does not hide the stricter room.
Ask for the drawing set, the design criteria sheet, and the scope narrative at quote stage. Later stages are fabrication, transport, set, and any site work the supplier accepted. Delivery to a port is not the same stage as set on the pad. Name the stage the price stops at.
Road width, overhead lines, crane access, and the foundation the buyer already has will reject some volumetric boxes and accept a panel pack. Wind speed, ground snow load, seismic design category, and wind exposure category come from this site, not from a catalog city. Thermal transmittance and the fire-resistance rating follow the jurisdiction.
Volumetric modular construction finishes more off site and stresses the transport envelope. Panelized construction can pack tighter and leaves more work in the weather. A standardized unit is easier to compare when dimensions match. A custom engineered system fits unusual spans and local rules, with more design time. Shell leaves local trades with the buyer. Turnkey coordinates more scope and still needs an exclusion list. NorthPoint Sourcing does not pick the winner. It keeps the three disputes visible so the factories answer the same question.
Inquiry names for these uses are on Building Options. The form is on Contact.
Naming the room is not enough for a factory. Add the jurisdiction, the known loads, the quantity, and the destination. Leave the unknown lines blank.
